Personalized Healthcare for You
MyPrivateDoctor is built around a simple idea: your healthcare should be personal.
Members receive longer appointments, direct access, continuity of care, medication and care-plan management, referrals, lab coordination, and ongoing physician advocacy.
When care becomes complicated, we help connect the dots. Whether you are seeing multiple specialists, dealing with unresolved medical concerns, or facing hospitalization, you have a physician who knows your history, understands the bigger picture, and stays involved.
About Dr. James Faremouth
Dr. James Faremouth is a board-certified physician in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulation with more than 30 years of experience. He believes good medicine starts with listening, independence, and individualized care.
Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, he looks at each patient’s history, risks, goals, and circumstances before making recommendations.
As an independent private physician, he is not part of a large corporate medical group or volume-driven healthcare system. His focus is simple: know the patient, understand the whole picture, and advocate for their best interests.
Isn’t It Time to Have Your Own Personal Physician Advocate?
Your health is personal. Your healthcare should be, too.
At My Private Doctor, we provide a more personal approach to medicine—one built around direct physician access, prevention, education, care coordination, and a genuine relationship between you and your doctor.
Led by Dr. James Faremouth, a physician board certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulation, our Personal Healthcare Advocate program is designed for patients who want more than a rushed appointment or an unfamiliar provider reading from their medical chart.
Here, your physician takes the time to understand your health history, concerns, lifestyle, goals, and plans for the future.
Independent, Physician-Led Medical Care
Dr. Faremouth is an independent physician. He is not employed by a hospital system, large healthcare organization, or pharmaceutical company. Our approach is rooted in thoughtful, evidence-based medicine, prevention, patient education, and individualized care.

Our Team
Dr. James Joseph Faremouth
Dr. James Joseph Faremouth is a board-certified physician specializing in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulation. With more than 30 years of medical experience, he combines evidence-based medicine with a preventive, whole-person approach tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
Dr. Faremouth earned his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in 1990 and graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1996. After completing his internship at Bi-County Community Hospital in Warren, Michigan, he completed his residency at Horizon Health Systems, a division of Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, in 1999.
Throughout his career, Dr. Faremouth has cared for patients in private-practice, outpatient, hospital and nursing-home settings. Originally from Grosse Pointe, Michigan, he maintained a private practice before relocating to Naples in 2007. In Naples, he opened a walk-in clinic on Collier Boulevard for Anchor Health. Following Anchor’s acquisition by NCH, he joined Millennium Physician Group, where he cared for patients across hospital, clinic and nursing-home settings. In 2014, he joined Premier Hospitalist Group, continuing his work with hospitalized patients and nursing-home residents.
As an independent physician, Dr. Faremouth is not employed by a hospital system, large healthcare organization or pharmaceutical company. His philosophy is rooted in the principle commonly summarized as “first, do no harm.” He emphasizes thoughtful decision-making, prevention and individualized care, taking the time to consider each patient’s health, lifestyle and personal goals.
His osteopathic training informs a holistic view of patient care. He is also trained in nonsurgical facial aesthetics, creating personalized treatment plans based on each client’s facial structure, lifestyle and preferences. His goal is to achieve balanced, natural-looking results that enhance rather than change a person’s appearance.
Dr. Faremouth founded Personal Healthcare Advocate to offer patients a more personal and accessible physician relationship. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and two golden retrievers, and pursuing outdoor interests—including boating, fishing, kayaking, skiing and motorcycling.

Testimonials
Dr. Faremouth, I wanted to write you and update you on my health. I don't know if you remember me, but you were the only one in Naples that did bloodwork which saved my life! When no one else would listen to me and pawed me along to other doctors, you knew what to do and what to look for! 2017 was the original diagnosis of leukemia. I was treated here in Philadelphia by an amazing oncologist. However, last year I relapsed almost exactly a year from the first diagnosis. I had a stem cell transplant last August and just celebrated my one-year anniversary this August 31st. A few expected hurdles, but I'm doing great!
I originally moved to Philly because I got a scholarship to finish my bachelor's degree. Throughout the treatments I continued school and I'm doing well there too!
I can't thank you enough for your common sense and insightfulness. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I wanted you to know how thankful I am to have you intervene so I could have a fighting chance! God bless and happy holidays!
P.S. I'll be in Florida, just not in Naples. However, if I get into town I will make sure to stop and say hello.
Jo-Ann
Dr. Faremouth is a physician who always shows considerable care and medical expertise for his patients. His ability to listen to my concerns and treat my health problems, as well as my fears, was incredible. He always took the time to follow up on my recovery and be accessible if needed.

I wanted to express my gratitude for a wonderful visit and experience at your office. Dr. Faremouth's time and education were greatly appreciated. His knowledge and overall pain management advice were exactly what I was hoping for. I am looking forward to a long-term patient-doctor relationship. I will consider Personal Healthcare Advocate-based medicine for 2022 too.

Mea and I highly recommend Dr. James Faremouth. The reasons for our high regard for him are too lengthy to explain, but suffice it to say that he and his staff “hit it out of the park” in the manner in which we were treated and with the excellent care and results medically.

Our Philosophy
We believe medicine should serve the patient—not the system.
Modern healthcare has become increasingly fragmented, rushed, and impersonal. Patients are often moved between providers, given limited time to explain complicated concerns, and expected to navigate specialists, medications, testing, insurance requirements, and treatment decisions largely on their own.
We believe there is a better way.
At MyPrivateDoctor, the physician-patient relationship comes first. Good medicine requires time to listen, continuity from one visit to the next, and a doctor who understands more than a single symptom or diagnosis. It means knowing your history, your medications, your specialists, your concerns, and your goals—and understanding how all of those pieces fit together.
We also believe physicians should have the independence to think critically. Medical guidelines, new treatments, institutional recommendations, and pharmaceutical products can all be valuable tools, but they should never replace individualized medical judgment. We do not believe every patient should automatically receive the same answer simply because a corporate system, insurance company, government agency, or pharmaceutical company favors a particular approach.
Does this make sense for this individual patient?
Most importantly, we believe patients deserve an advocate who stays involved.
That can mean seeing you in your home, following your care when you are hospitalized, speaking directly with hospitalists and specialists, reviewing medications and treatment decisions, and helping ensure important details do not get lost as your care moves from one provider to another.
When you are sick, hospitalized, or facing a complicated medical decision, you should not have to navigate the system alone. You should have someone you know and trust who understands your history, can speak the language of medicine, and is prepared to advocate for you.
That is the heart of MyPrivateDoctor: know the patient, understand the whole picture, think independently, maintain continuity of care, and make sure you always have a physician in your corner fighting for your best interests.
